Obtaining An "LR" Licence
Once you have your Driver's
licence for a minimum 12 months you can apply for an LR (Light
Rigid) licence.
This licence allows you to
drive a two axle vehicle with a GVM up to 8 tonne.
The process is a simple 1 step
process;

Book with the Motor Vehicle Registry and successfully pass a
practical driving assessment in an LR class vehicle. |
Obtaining An "MR" Licence
Once you have your Driver's
licence for a minimum 12 months you can apply for an MR (Light
Rigid) licence.
This licence allows you to
drive a two axle vehicle with a GVM over 8 tonne.
The process is a simple 2 step
process;

Book with the Motor Vehicle Registry and successfully pass a
theoretical heavy vehicle test. |

Step 2 |
Book with the Motor Vehicle Registry and successfully pass a
practical driving assessment in an MR class vehicle. |
Obtaining An "HR" Licence
Once you have your Driver's
licence for a minimum 24 months you can apply for an HR (Light
Rigid) licence.
This licence allows you to
drive a three axle vehicle with a GVM over 8 tonne.
The process is a simple 2 step
process;
