Relocating from New Zealand
Although your New Zealand
licence is recognised in the Northern Territory to drive, to drive
for Hire or Reward you will need to transfer your licence over.
The process is quite simple;

Obtain |
A Confirmation of Licence from the NZ Department of Transport.
Essentially this is a letter confirming the details of your
drivers licence is correct and its appropriate classes and
endorsements. |

Obtain |
A letter from you current/last employer in New Zealand
confirming the type of vehicle/s you were driving and for what
purpose. |

Step 1 |
Visit the local Motor Vehicle Registry in the Northern Territory and complete the
L1 Application Form and
submit with the two documents above. |

Step 2 |
Visit a local GP in the Northern Territory, submit for a medical
check with this form (L02
Medical Check) |
|
Step 3 |
Submit both this form
(CPVF05 - the Application) with this form
(PF165 - Criminal
History Check) and your Medical Check from Step 2 to the local office of the Motor Vehicle
Registry |

Step 4 |
Successfully complete a Theory Test at the same Motor Vehicle
Registry |
|
Step 5 |
Wait about 10 Days from step 3 for the results of your Criminal
History Check - and you are all set to go. |
