3 Day East Coast Tour

Day 1

Travel eastwards along the north coast road to Manatuto, passing by beautiful coastal cliffs. Stop in Manatuto for a visit to the local arts and clay handcrafts or the former Portuguese administration house.

Continue through the rice paddies of Laleia until Baucau, the second largest city. There you can visit the old market building or head down to the beach. Going further east, Laga and Lautém are fishing villages with remains of Portuguese fortresses. Arrive at Com.

Day 2

Leave early in the morning to Tutuala. Look at the traditional sacred houses and the numerous tombs on the roadside, identified with sacrificial totems of buffalo horns. Passing though the Lake Ira Lalaro you can search for the pre-historic paintings of Ilekerkere and then head on to Tutuala beach.
