5 Day East End Paradise Tour
Day 1
This morning
we travel east along the north coast of the country, with its
beautiful coastal cliffs; we'll stop in Manatuto for a quick tour to
the local bazaar, monuments and clay arts & crafts.
Proceeding on
to Baucau forlunch at the beautiful Pousada de Baucau, with a short
walk by the centreof the city stretching your legs before heading
further east to Laga and
Lautém.
A visit to the
rmains of an ancient Portugese fort and continue to Lospalos where a
take a short tip around the village before checking into our hotel.
Day 2
an early
morning departure to Tutuala, the East End Paradise of the island. On
the way throughout this paradise at Konis Santana National Park, we
will visit some ancient tombs and a typical house of the region, one
of the symbols of this young country.
Optional tours
from Tutuala beach are; the rock paint caves at Ili-kere-kere (20
minute walk each way), time at the beach, or cross the channel to Jaco
Island (5 minutes) on a typical small boat (beiro) and take a chance
for a swim on the beach with pristine waters.

Snorkeling is a must at this unique place, Or charter a
local boat and go around the isle discovering beautiful corals
and idyllic beaches.
Enjoy a
delicious fish lunch and dinner by the beach (meat is available
on minimum 2 days advance notice). Tonight we stay in tents
beside the beach.
Day 3
This morning we relax before departing mid
morning to Com, a small fisherman's village where lunch will be
served.
On the way to
Lautém, we visit a very basic
and primary distillery producing "Tuaca", the local home-made
palm wine, before contuniing to Laga & Quelicai.
Day 4
An early morning start to Mt Matebian,
meeting the guides and start climbing the 900m (3-4 hours
hiking), stopping at the plateau and enjoying the views
(altitude 1750m).
Either continuing to the summit or starting
the descent to Baguia (1 hour trek) for lunch. After lunch we
continue the trip to car for our overnight stay at the Pousada
de Baucau. |

Day 5
We start the day relaxing either on your own
and/or on the beautiful beach and have lunch at the Pousada. This
afternoon we tour to Venilale, the city of royal families for a
visit to the School of the Kingdom of Venilale and to the caves
dug by the Japanese army during WWII.
We drive back to Dili by the via the plateau
which shelters the airport of Bacau and stop for a visit at the
ancient church at Laleia village, a short stop an Manatuto and
Metinaro before arriving back in Dili.
