Tennant Creek is steeped in Gold Mining history
with additional discoveries of copper and a few mines of
differing sizes and type still operate today. The Tennant Creek
region is rich in geographical features, none more so than the
Devils Marbles 105 kilometers to the south. This collection of
fascinating usually symmetrical boulders are situated
conveniently beside the Stuart Highway, wind and water erosion
have created the marble-like structures most of which are
precariously balanced upon one another as if placed there by the
devil himself.
